It has been a tremendously successful and productive year, but of course, that means I have been working nonstop! A new blog entry is definitely in order, and we must talk about the increasingly-famous Hannah & Kathryn Photoshoots.
Hannah and Kathryn are two Pacific students with ridiculous personalities and imagination. It all started last December during Christmas, and as roommates, they wanted a unique and wacky Christmas card. This is what we created:
These photoshoots became a modern day randomized Eye Spy photo, each with the “Haters Gonna Hate” banner cameo. Trust me. It gets worse… or better:
After Christmas, the Hannah & Kathryn Photoshoots became a highly-anticipated event for upcoming holidays, receiving 100+ likes on Facebook in a single night. The next holiday was Valentine’s Day, and for some weird reason, these two darlings are single and they wanted to… stay single(?):
As a photographer, I had to match the mood, so I removed the umbrellas from my flash units and went for harsh lighting, creating distinctive shadows on their faces. Eye Spy some un-lovey movies, wine, a heart pierced with a knife, encouraging letters, and the infamous banner.
Our latest project was St. Patrick’s Day, and I must properly credit Kathryn’s mom for her holiday spirit, sending packages of green goodies like stickers, socks, headbands, MUSTACHES, and more. What a cool mom!
I love doing these blur shots, so I rolled my f-stop down to ƒ1.4. Gawd I love my 24mm ƒ1.4! Here is the setup:
Nikon D4 | 24mm ƒ1.4| ƒ40 | ISO 800 | 1/200sec
SB-700 @ 1/8, shoot-thru umbrella on left
SB-600 @ 1/8, shoot-thru umbrella on right
SB-600 @ 1/64, bare in back
flashes triggered via Pocketwizard II’s
Stay tuned for more Hannah & Kathryn Photoshoots! Easter is next…
